I have a 2003 Honda Odyssey with 167,000 miles.  The transmission started slipping and then within one week the vehicle would not move forward or backwards.  I had three repair shops make the same diagnoses - the tranny needed to be rebuilt.  I paid $2,800 for the rebuild with a 2-year warranty.  Works great.

R. Ruiz says:
I have a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4X4 pickup that I use as a work truck. I am always pulling something or hauling something. Because of this the tranny got really hot several times over the summer. The dealer said the heat ruined the transmission and would have to be replaced. I found a used transmission from an ad I found on this site and got it for $975 plus $100 for shipping. Had a friend help me take the old tranny out and install this one. Paid him $200. After buying fluid, my total cost was $1330. This is the way to save money.
